The Oxfam Online Shop (OOS) was launched in September 2008.
The eco online shop has brought together Oxfam's key products into a single coherent place – a shop within the oxfam.org.uk website with a single basket and checkout, consistent customer service, and consolidated fulfilment systems.
There are three Categories of product currently sold through the OOS. They are:
- Oxfam Unwrapped – tangible elements of Oxfam’s programme presented for sale as virtual gifts, most notably a goat for £25.
- Donated Productss – items donated to Oxfam by the general public through its network of high street shops. Each item is unique and is listed by volunteers in a process similar to listing an item on ebay. NB Oxfam is the only charity in the UK to sell donated products in this way.
- New Products – items purchased wholesale by Oxfam to retail for profit. The range includes fair-trade fashion, foods and jewellery, eco-gadgets, and greetings cards.
This is eco shopping which support many positive causes across the world.
