Brompton Lakes is a collection of luxurious and sustainable self catering holiday lodges set in tranquil lakeside surroundings just two miles from the market town of Richmond, North Yorkshire. The lodges are set in 26 acres containing two lakes and surrounded by woodland and open countryside.

They rest on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, directly on the banks of the River Swale. Richmond itself is a charming Georgian market town perhaps best known for its 11th Century castle and quaint cobbled streets. There is a good choice of pubs and plenty of places to eat, as well as a good range of independent and high street shops.

Brompton Lakes 2Rooms Description:
Brompton Lakes offers two style of self catering holiday lodges. Type A is the smaller of the two and has a good sized kitchen and open plan living area. There are three double bedrooms with split link double beds.

The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room. Type B lodges are similarly laid out but are slightly more spacious. All lodges are complete with flat screen TV and audio system in addition to a futuristic log burning heat storage stove.

Each lodge oozes quality in terms of interior design and specification.

The eco lodges are built with European soft wood sourced from sustainable plantations. They have double insulated walls and sedum green roofs, helping to keep them warm in winter and cool in the summer months.

Water in the cabins is sourced from our own bore hole and is pure, clean and 100% natural. Lodges are heated using a highly efficient and eco-friendly geo-thermal heat pump.

Without the chemicals sprayed by many larger commercial farms this is a haven for wildlife. A wide variety of birds can be spotted here along with rabbits, squirrels, pheasants and hedgehogs. At dusk, both the tawny and barn owls can often be seen hunting in the meadows.

Facilities available include tennis on our grass tennis court as well as croquet on the croquet lawn.

The Eden Project and famous Heligan Gardens, both within a 7 mile drive, along with the numerous other gardens all within very easy reach. Also within a short distance is the historic harbour of Charlestown. You can often see the fascinating old square sail ships here, and the harbour is frequently used for filming period dramas.

The Cathedral City of Truro is 12 miles away, perfect for a days shopping, while both the North Coast with its miles of sandy beaches and rugged coastline and the gentler South Coast, with its many harbours, are within easy reach. Land’s End to the West and Dartmoor to the East can be reached within 90 minutes. We are within 2 miles of the nearest shop and pub and only a 5 minute walk from the nearest bus route.
