Jepara Chair

A stunning addition to any home, this contemporary chair design features banana fibre woven onto a sturdy wooden frame. Five feather-filled cushions complete the design, literally supporting and hugging you in whatever position you adopt. The rich colours of the weaving material are beautifully offset by the paler fabrics of the cushions, making a pleasing addition to any living space.

The chair works on its own, for individual comfort, or combines with another chair to make a cosy contemporary pair, which form an impromptu sofa. Being square, the design also fits neatly into corners.

The cushion fabrics are 100% cotton. You can choose from a handwoven textile (white) from Indonesia, or a heavier fabric sourced in the UK (celeriac green). Our aim longer-term is to source an organic/fair trade-certified cotton for the Indonesian fabrics.

Matching tables and footstools are available using the same meterials and construction as the chair. The tabletop and shelves are made from mango and pule, both local softwoods.
